Imam Fausi, a 5th-semester student majoring in English Language and Literature, has consistently proven himself not only in academics but also in the field of Pencak Silat. His dedication and hard work have led him to win several prestigious competitions across Indonesia.
Some of his notable achievements include:
- SH CUP 2022: 2nd place in the Men’s Double Artistic category.
- Makassar National Championship 1, 2022: 1st place in the Men’s Double Artistic category.
- Cultural Pencak Silat Festival, 2023: 3rd place in the Men’s Double Artistic category.
- Makassar Championship 2, 2023: 3rd place in the Men’s Single Artistic category.
- Hasanuddin Championship 1, 2024: 2nd place in the National Men’s Single Artistic category.
His most recent achievement was securing a silver medal at the Hasanuddin Championship 1, 2024, where he excelled in the Men’s Single Artistic category.
Imam attributes his success to disciplined training, which he rigorously follows through his involvement with the external organization Persaudaraan Setia Hati Terate. Balancing his time between academics and Pencak Silat is no easy feat. "In the mornings and afternoons, I focus on my studies, but in the evenings, I dedicate my time to training. If I have no classes in the afternoon, I use that time to train as well," he explained.
When asked for his tips and tricks for success, Imam said, "Training is key. If you want to win, you have to increase your training just like how you would increase your portion of food if you want to feel full. This should be paired with a strong, competitive spirit and self-confidence."
Imam Fausi continues to inspire his peers both academically and athletically, proving that hard work and determination can lead to great achievements.
